DJDOWNLOAD.COM Goes Under but Juno Takes Over

djdPopular legal download site for dance music, has been the buzz of Twitter lately with first it’s closing, then it’s rescue by Juno. Here is the official word:

We regret to inform you that our affiliate MP3 store has gone into administration, following ongoing financial difficulties. The good news is that the site will continue to operate – but under the control of new owners Juno Download, who have purchased the business and its assets from the administrators who are overseeing DJD’s disbandment.

DJD founder Justin Pearse said:

“It is with great regret that we have to inform you that DJdownload Limited has been placed into administration by the directors of the company. The directors have worked extremely hard over the past few months to try and save the company: overheads were reduced and attempts to increase revenues were made but ongoing efforts to raise further finance were unsuccessful. Despite their best efforts the company was not able to continue to trade. We would like to thank you for your support and business over the years and we wish you all the best in the future.”

The DJDownload team will continue to operate and the site will work in the same way – but the catalogue will be supplied from Juno’s digital backend.
